Q:
Why isn't there one single picture
on this site???
A: The short answer is, I haven't
got any. Not that are mine to publish, anyway.
What impresses me most about Mr W's work is his basic honesty,
his consistent effort to turn in a good piece of work. So,
I can't use stolen material on a site that is supposed to
be a tribute to him.
You'll find good, recent and legal pics in the IMDb
photo gallery.
Q:
C'mon, everybody likes to know about celebs'
private lives.
What's so terribly wrong with gossip?
A: How would you feel if you
couldn't even have lunch at Burger King with your best buddy
without the tabloids promptly sticking the pair of you into
bed? Or if everybody and his dog felt entitled to voice an
opinion on the current state of the relationship you're in?
I like Mr W's movies. What he does off camera, with other
consenting adults, is no business of mine - I just hope it
keeps him happy so he'll go on making enjoyable movies.
Q:
Why aren't the top lists
in a database, so I could see my entry right away?
A: My web service provider
doesn't support databases.
This site is new. If it turns out to be worth while, I may
at some later date move it to a host where I can run ASP -
but don't hold your breath. So far I'm certainly not getting
more input than I can handle :-) and I'm happy with the rest
of Tripod's services.
Q:
I want to know what your recommendations
are worth. What other movies
do you like, when you aren't watching Bruce Willis?
A: Here's a bunch of favorites
without Mr W, with links to the Internet Movie Database.
I'm not trying to be profound or artsy - I've stuck in some
that are simply good fun.
And the list is strictly personal, with no consideration of
film art or history.
A: Terry Gilliam is top of
my list, without any doubt.
Next, Milos Forman, Emil Kusturica and Luc Besson.
Of the "big elephants", Fellini, Bunuel and Kurosawa.
While I recognize their merit as pathfinders in film art,
personally I can live without Tarkovski and Von Trier, and
the only Bergman I really enjoy and watch repeatedly is "The
Magic Flute".
Q:Actors
other than BW?
A: To stick to living ones:
Gary Oldman, Ian Holm; next, Glenn Close and John Malkovich.
In the "star" category, Harrison Ford and Sean Connery.
My favorite action hero is Jackie Chan.
