Note: this review refers to the pilot
episode available on DVD,
not to the entire series.
Some women swoon at the mention of David Addison, BW's "Moonlighting"
character - isn't the variety of taste amazing? The guy has
as much male chauvinism in him as BW playing him has ham:
amply sufficient for a prize hog. The gender stereotypes providing
the dramatic idea and most of the "humor" are of
the kind that must have felt stale around 1950.
Still, the DVD is a must-have for any serious BW fan. As a
bonus feature it contains the screen test that landed BW the
job, even worse than his performance in the pilot episode.
The development of his acting ability between 1985 and 1988/89
(Die Hard 1, In Country) is more than impressive.
