I thought there was a lot more to Bruce than what was seen on
the screen and I thought that if he could divest himself of
his smart-ass tricks and clever attitudes he might be able to
find the lonely, lost but extremely dangerous style deep inside
him...
I was impressed by his concern
to make a good film and not a
Bruce Willis vehicle.
(Terry Gilliam about "Twelve Monkeys") |

- ... Willis knows how to depict not
only the fight but what the fight is for, and it is this that
has made him one of the modern screen's most prominent artists
of the ordinary man.

Dictionary of Films and Filmmakers") |

- ...he really wanted to do it and was
determined to try. ... he had made enough money to feel secure,
and was now trying to prove himself as an actor, ... [in Pulp
Fiction] he'd proved something and he wanted to go further with
it. ... ...
So Bruce was coming to us as a supplicant with the right frame
of mind, willing to take a chance,
and I thought that was great.
(Terry Gilliam about "Twelve Monkeys") |

- He's the only
guy who could have done this, the only contemporary actor who
suggests fifties ... Bruce playing Butch made
the role deeper.
(Quentin Tarantino about "Pulp Fiction") |

- It's great not because he's famous but
because he is so nice and generous and helpful.
He helped me get better at acting every day. I've only been
an actor for a short time but he always treated
me like a real actor. He is amazing.

Kid", on a chat)

- Then we got in a food fight, and I was
throwing fries at him and he was throwing fries at me. It
was absolutely hilarious! I
NEVER thought I'd be throwing french fries at a big star like
Bruce Willis. It was really fun.

Kid")

- He is an incredible actor and gave
me all kinds of pointers -- like "T.A.T.S." That
means "think about the scene" so you that are ready
when the director yells, "Action!" I'm glad that
I got to work with him on my first movie because he was really
nice to me and really helped
me do the best job I could.
I will miss him very much too.

Kid")

- He is such a big
movie star that I was really excited. He's a much
better actor than he normally gets credit for. He's also
really funny.

"The Kid") |
